lol reckons engine slid right in. no exhaust to get in the way as turbo manifolds custom built.
who knows. got another pump on it now. made 350rwhp on 5 psi with a 5 minute tune at 4000rpm that was fat & retarded enough to have pipes glowing.

Did the engine get transported from where it was built to where it was put in the car?

    Heads up:

Ryco Z30 filters have changed, had a spate of collapsed filters lately.

Take them off the list of good filters, I'm switching to K&N.

Crap! Bought a z30 filters on sale last year.

Did notice they have performance branded filter that looked like K&N copy although thought they were no-go too unless large body filter?

I reckon they'll be ok if you bought them last year, but keep an eye on them!

I haven't tried their new 'performance' ones yet, if anyone has feedback let us know.

quite some years back a mechanic and parts store put me onto the Z160 filter instead of the Z30 as a more compact options.
I never really put any thought into them other than they fit.
Anyone got any thoughts on the matter?
if they are fine to use, then they might be a viable alternative.

When I spoke to Ryco about the difference they told me both filters flow the rate and the filter is the same micron. Only difference is the size. The z30 offered more volume.

tony what's exactly wrong with them?

Both times I've used the High Performance ones (they have disclaimer, saying not for racing) this has happened.

I don't think it's fair to blame the filter when you guys are blanking the oil pump bypass valve, increasing the pumps pressure and most seem to run HPR 30.
    I've fitted 3 Ryco z30's this year and haven't had a problem.

lost an engine due to one collapsing / splitting at WOT 7000rpm top of the back straight
at Sandown maybe 5 6 years ago ( yes, I did help clear up the massive oil down) and never
    used them again

I went back to using large GM PF10 filters like I originally did .. not had a problem since
(although clearance is tight against the rad hose) I note Tate Small and Burns use them on
    their race engines

btw... I always tin can style cut open the filters when I change them and run a magnet over it ( like the aero guys do)
