    Default C4 kickdown

    Hi.
I am hoping to get some info on setting up the kickdown on my 65 Mustang with C4 trans.
It's missing the linkage between the carb and the rod that comes from the trans. I am not sure what I need...

What kind of carb and manifold ?
May be better off converting to cable operation if standard kickdown rod doesn't fit, I've even seen the rod jam on some aftermarket air cleaners.

You can buy a lot of this stuff brand new these days.

Yes , Lokar do a cable kit that works ok... It's not essential that it is hooked up if you were worried it might ruin the trans. As long as it downchanges from 3rd gear under load up a hill etc .

Changing down gears at lower speeds is generally termed as a part throttle down change, has nothing to do with kick down.
You can adjust the sensitivity of the part throttle down change through the modulator.
