    we.ve got a 71 capri with an ed xr8 motor n box, they're about 160kw, thinking about getting an AU xr8 motor for it. more power, say around 200kw.
    is it easy to put the original dizzy back in? dont wanna stuff with the electrics to much.
    any other things i will encounter?
    or just grab a complete top end?
    and go from there?

    You will need a different timing cover, harmoonic balance and possibly camsfat with manifold will get in the way for the distributor. A better solution as I would recomdn would be to build a stroker for the engine bringing it up to 347 ci. The au running gear is nice but you would probably have to work on the smartsheild immobilization system. There is a mob out there that sells a J3 mod chip toe enable start without bcm immobilizer. Would b better to stick with the coil pack ignition as it is higher power output and can also aid in performance as opposed to an outdated distributor. Aso the Thin film ignition modules are too finicky today and too unreliable. Cant find a new one that works properly any more.

    wow, thanks nicky. didnt realize there was that much differance.
    i.ve been reading the american mustang stuff, and they didnt mention any of that. what it did say was the ed heads n manifold, throttle body, are crappy.
