    Default Tyres in adelaide

Looking for a good tyre shop in adelaide that can help me get the measurement right on my wheels and help source odd tyre sizes etc.

    Does anyone know anybody?

    I'm looking at 15x8 wheels with a 245 or 255 tyre.

    HI
There are rim/tyre jigs that simulate these dimensions that mount to the stud pattern . Ideally I guess you are looking for someone with this tool ?? Unfortunately available to purchase but I doubt any tyre shops in ozzy have this . Ring around the yellows .

Spot on! I was hoping someone locally had one or knew some one experienced with this stuff. So many tyre shops seem to be kids on minimum wage around here. I'm not looking to price match, I just want good service and knowledge.

    HI
Feel`n your pain . Shops in Oz are resellers only .
Make up a metal disc or wood disc. Then build your own wheel . Have the vehicle on jack stands . About as close as u can get at home .
The alternate is dummy a steel rim and real tyre with only a tack welded centre .Keep tacking the centre in different spots till right offset. There is a steel rim place in Adelaide ,they might help .

The only other way is ring the only wheel makers left in Adelaide 2 factories from memory. Plus Dragway in Melbourne .
These guys may be able to point u in the right direction for a retailer with tool.

Thanks, I actually reached out to the local steel wheel place yesterday and will chat to them during the week.. It seems crazy how little knowledge or support some stores have. I walked into one and asked if Michelin are the only mob who do a 255 45 r15, I was told nobody does that! That's clearly wrong though!

Custom Steel Wheels made up my rims (Extensive Wheels Services, Mile End are a good mob too that might be able to help - not with tyres but with the rims.

They offered to tack the band in place so I could trail the backspace before they welded up the rim, that may be an option for you. (I already knew what backspace I needed so it was less of a drama for me)

I have used both the tyre stores I suggested and found them to be very helpful and willing to go that extra mile. I think you will struggle finding a 255/45 in a 15 though mate.

Thanks for the help! I've found the tyres, that wasn't too hard. The wheels are the challenge I'm not a confident on. I'll chat to them both and see if they can help..
