Has anybody ever modified wagon bench seat to fit mini tubs, was it a pain in the ass to fit and still be able to lower and sit back up, I was thinking about just fixing it up right as I wonít be putting anything in the back anyway

Iím thinking about fitting a fuel cell in the spare wheel well, can i modify the filler so I can fill it from outside without to much drama or will it be to low. not excited about cutting it up to find I have to fill it from the boot anyway it is a street car but not to stressed about if itís legal itís done a total of 50km in the last 2 yrs that includes driving to willowbank for powercruise and breaking it haha

Luke from LCF Fabrications has been doing the mini tubs, commodore pursuit rims tucked in nice and close, hopefully far enough so it doesnt smash rear quarters in burnout comps

At what point do you need valve reliefs for an LS?

Bigger duration cams with tighter Lobe separation and if you deck the heads for extra comp, most larger cams say to check piston to valves clearance anyway I just wanted extra room in case I go larger cam at a later date

You're in Brisbane aren't you? Would love to come and have a geeze one weekend, sink a few tins and chew your ear off about the fly cutting etc.

Yep thats good, also un-shroud the valve stem a little and touch up the short turn. This is all I did with mine and they worked great. Also took 80thou off them.

As for valve reliefs in the pistons I took about 100thou out of the top of the pistons without any drama. Heads up the stop 5.7 pistons are over 8mm thick ontop.

I used an old valve with a piece of cutting die (theres a better name but I forget) that I picked up from Hare and Forbes welded onto it. Put that in the head and sunk it into the piston. Got he rough depth done and then touched up with a sanding scroll. Really important not to leave any sharp edges as that may cause a hot spot and .......boom lol

For the stally, with the new tech got he 5g, it will be great for the drags and as for burnouts your going to be turning it to 6-6.5 at least in top gear.

As a comparison I had the heads and cam with stock manifold, th400 and 4.11 gears and mine would sing off the limiter in top gear without a drama. Brand new 195s would last 50 sec and be down to the steel belts.

    Hope this helps a little

Yeah man south west Brisbane Jimboomba area,

I was thinking the 5g, thatís the same as the flycutting tools I used, used a tungsten tip seemed to hold a better edge and made a nicer finish. rings and bearings have turned up so when I get back to work Iíll slap it all back together only got till early Jan for Summernats 🤞
