Default Extrude a Hone /// Power porting

    Hi
Is Specialised Power porting the only one who does this .

Read some where he flow tests b4 and after Power port process .

Is this guy any good , dyno results anyone ?? , worth the money ??

Is there anyone else in ozzy that does this

Youre not gonna waste money on a banana manifold are you?

    Hi
    No
Seems expensive for around 20hp/ 20ft/lb TQ

Most likely not that great on a carby street car , Just need peoples experiences .

    hi
    just a thought ,
Comparison between Elderbrock Perf Rpm and a dual plane Titan AFR manifold . The RPM is as cast alloy and the Titan is plastic . The plastic having a flawless by comparison finish to the RPM. Interestingly , online dyno sheets say 0 tq improvement and around 10hp increase . Transfer that info to the Extruda hone process and u could assume and only small gains are to be made.

    Against
    very costly
uncontrolled erosion by hydraulics not CNC machined/ designed by engineer
    FOR
if it were a reasonable price it would be worth it
Able to do an under hood manifold to improve perf

Its really only a form of decent polishing /finishing

Thats the problem isnt it, its not taking material where you want to its taking out whatever is in its way...

    Hi
The erosion is controlled by pressure and abrasive grade

Just imagine a river if the flow/ pressure is to high uncontrolled the outside radius /long curve would be severely eroded

    Basically a surface finish
Basically best where air flows only seems to be its ideal situation EFI / TURBO [air/ fuel mix . slightly different ] . A quality cast manifold has some all be it a little rough surface finish t o break up fuel drop lets that fall out of the air flow . I guess this 2 fold , rough finish break up droplets , smooth finish allows better flow eg drops regain speed a lot quicker .

Interestingly AFR use to recommend street heads because of the rough finish . They don`t these days . The comp heads are remachined a second time . suppose to be fairly polished type surface .

The use USA Extrude a hone can remove a lot of material ! claimed . Seems like most automotive jobs about 1mm removal is the most common .

There claims are more velocity 20 % ,this does not translate to HP/tq . I am sure it gives an improvement but how much ??. Extruda Only give some very old 5.0ltr Ford figures .
In summary not at the cost .
If considering flow test b4 and after .
    Idealy Dyno b4 and after
The Extruda follows what u already have . There in lies the paradox If u already have high performance parts it will be a limited result . Improve a standard part to high performance it will not .

If u need to have a standard part it will help but costly
If u need to fit under a bonnet it would help but costly

For the price customers need proof on the dyno !! Extruded plastic manifolds are probably similar $$ and more of a guaranteed result
