    Default Hq Wagon Streeter

Hey all, first time poster on here.

Thought i would chuck up my sleeper build i am about to start, its not going to be anything to crazy.

The old girl is a HQ Belmont Wagon, 202 - 3 on the tree manual. Body is a little ruff but deffently has potential. The goal is to run 10s driven to & from the track.

Been deciding for the last few weeks what combo to put in the wags, So i picked up this low km L77 out of a VF SS , around 35,000 on this motor and 500kms since it received some goodies, D.O.D deltete kit, ls7 lifters, new valve springs, 233/233 cam (.591/.596) lift with 113 lobe sep. 102mm throttle body.

I have ordered a few parts last week that will turn up early this week.

Have also brought a holley hp efi ecu, thanks to kev @ kpm performance Gatton & a hq ls conversion from castlemaine rod shop, also have a 900hp rated th400. Goals are to try and run into the high 10s aspo eventually and will try running a 100 shot of nitrous, so maybe sneak into the low 10s. Hopfully have this going by February.

    Looks like a great plan.
Are you leaving the body as is for now and running 10's like that?

Wow, an optioned HQ Belmont wagon. Big block in HQ Belmont wagon is not rare but not common, most were 173. Is it an original low compression 202 (QM prefix)?. Does it have front discs too?

Yeah man front disc, will have to sus the engine out, she runs 12 flat to the 8th mile and has a adjustable main jet

For stock order base level stuff GMH seemed to fit front discs a lot with the bigger 6cyl engine (ie 186 and 202) starting back as early as HK. Not sure if it was just them building what they thought people wanted, or a sneaky way of getting another few bucks for the disc upgrade if people wanted the bigger 6cyl engine but didn't want to wait for a retail order vehicle, so tool the vehicle from stock and forked out the extra for the discs.

Wow that looks to be one clean HQ wagon, cant see much rust there at all, usually the tailgates are a goner on these, and from wahat i can see the cowl panels appear to be intact as well, which is unusual, looking forward to this build thread.
