    Default hq chev sumps

    hi all
Engine sumps specifically HQ /early chev [dart block] street use

    custom pans
ASR street 6.0lt and drag 6.5lt
High energy sump [owned by ASR ???] same cost
    CAE sumps
    Russel

    Premade types
    Aeroflow
    VPW
Do the cheaper pans have aussie drivers side dipstick. Early/traditional sumps had aussie passenger d/stick.

    What`s your opinion ????????

I'm in the same boat at the moment deciding what sump to get for my chev in the Tonner. I was leaning towards the ASR.

    hi
A point to remember is most of the makers donot guarantee the clearance for 3 3/4 inch stroke 400cube chev etc . This is a problem for the prefab sump as most if not all resellers have no idea . With the custom sumps this is not a problem but an extra cost will be charged ""stroker clearance""

    Hi
    trikHQ
If memory from my ph calls there is the street/strip and drag/ competition sump . The more$ was the drag type 500$ plus 100$approx for the stroker mod . The street sump is around 330 plus stroker mod .$ are all approx.
Did u get a optioned up street sump trap doors and extra baffles and scrapers
I noticed u ordered there pickup correct ? about 120?

Was the sump modified for what stroke .?? 3.875 or 4.0 inch [ do the sump rails get modded further than pic if ordering for a 4 inch stroke]
Have any trouble with gasket assuming u used a single piece rubber??

Interestingly the welds are not painted ,only small point but a worth noting .
In saying that quality paint for sumps blocks is $ so I doubt it would be used .
Russel sumps paints the inside . Did not ask on the quality of paint .

It is a Street / Comp Sump , that is the optioned up Street sump, Part number on my receipt is #1201SC with additional clearance in the notes. Says 383 stroke. Pickup etc comes with it.
I used a one piece gasket. No issue at all.
Didn't ask on the quality on there paint . As far as painting inside , not sure I would want paint inside a sump but have seen coated with moly type coating.
    This is from their site.

    Street Comp

Our Street Comp (S/C) is the step up from the Super Street.
Increased capacity, control gates and a mesh windage tray is fitted along with the V.O.C Baffle Feature.
The S/C comes with an ASR Fabricated pick up.
This pan provides good oil control for engines that may see the track on occasion

    Cheers Mario

    HI
    Trik HQ
Yup finally getting to the engine . Transmission on the truck and diff here .
Anyways probably going for alloy sump need to get quotes .
Do u still have the sump in the pics as I need some dimensions ???

    cross member clearance
from the front pan bolt hole -measure how far back to main part of sump [eg when does the main sump start ] ???

How deep is the taper just as it joins the main sump [step] [measuring down from sump rail ] ??
The aero flow is vertical measurement 140mm pan rail to step

main depth is same 195 mm as yours
width add on main sump 269mm yours ??
length main sump 229mm then steps down to the 140mm yours???
Height/ depth of shallow end 90mm [from rail ] yours ???
HOW high is the ADD ON section ??

Hope I explained it well enough
Either going Champ pans or Steffs fabrication

    Regards
