    Default 383 hq Kingswood

Thought I'd start a build thread seeing I'm fairly well into things by now. This won't be the fastest moving thread by all means so don't be holding your breath waiting for updates. Picked this beauty up around feb. Originally from tazzie, Never painted, 202, 3 on the tree, bench seat, 86000 miles young. Will be getting a 383 combo I built quite some time ago for a ute I didn't really want, It's a 010 block with 3.75 4340 eagle crank, kb pistons, eagle h beams, Dart pro 1 platinum's, Dart single plain and a 830 annular discharge hp holley. Hopefully be on the spit by the time I go back to work so I can start on the floor and underneath then it can go for some colour (At the moment I'm hung up on plain block white something like the Chrysler one)

Cleaned up the floor and painted it yesterday. Hopefully I'll Finnish getting it on the spit today so I can start underneath. My floor isn't the straightest in Australia so I'll probably just run stone guard or body deadener underneath to hide a few things.

For some reason it's only letting me upload 1 photo the others are smaller but just won't upload??

Open up a photobucket account, then upload photos to there. From there you copy and paste the IMG code into your thread.

It looked to be a really tidy start, very interested to watch and follow along with the build.

Thanks fellas. Kicked a few more goals today ended up getting it on the spit and finished removing the last few things. I'm contemplating just getting the thing blasted under side and everything because I'm going to be honest I'm not to excited about spending a day or so on the grinder and wire wheel cleaning this shite up. I was thinking to get the painter to check it out as he might want me to do it last?

Has anyone bought direct from comp cams before? I sent an email a while back for a postage quote and haven't heard back yet. Also if anyone has a good shot of their twin 3" that would also be a big help. I've been planning out how I'm going to route it and it looks like it'll be much neater to end before the diff.

Welded up some holes today where I've removed garnish from the body line and the wheel arches. Also cut off the rivets and welded holes along the sills. Had a few deliveries as well, water pump, engine mounts and crane rocker stud girdles and a few other small things, should also have my gear box arriving soon from Paul Rodgers. Will be going to the body shop in december but between now and then I can get it blasted and primed and build the front end.

Anyone been through the 6 to v8 process recently? rego wise that is? I've been doing as much reading as I can and found the engine change form but it says something about a bigger capacity and power increase requires an engineer report. I'm so confused by everything I don't know where to start. A guy at work said I just do a form and they send it back with the specs I have to run then I just get an inspection? or can I just fill out the standard form?

You won't need an engineer report as HQ's came out factory with a small block chev.
