I've only ever used rouge & a buff,,,, with limited result, as the motor on the polish wheel needs to be substantial. Taking a long time on my little motor thing,, good for small jobs only

I've got a pretty decent 240v die grinder with a few speeds so I might get a wheel for it and just tape it down to some planks or something.

Bunnings sell a kit with large and small wheels and 2 types of rouge. The small wheels are good for corners and finer work.

Into it again today sticking all this mat down I was hoping my stall would be here so I could bolt my trans up to the donk and drop it all in but it's not here yet. I didn't think I'd enjoy doing this but there's something about getting home to a pile of presents (Even if I know what they are) and fitting out new things to a fresh car. I can't wait to see what it's like to drive a brand new HQ. Sorry pics are a little dark...

Most people are just using alternative image hosting eg imgur, postimage, google photos.

I am still using photobucket. Not sure why it's working still though

Finally it has a donk and a stall that took 3 months to get here. As soon as I find my new balancer installation tool I haven't used yet that I lost, I can install the new balancer and got some sweet cast dart rocker covers that I need to weld some fittings into and get powder coated.

It looks like I'm going to have a bit of trouble with this myself swampy, I'm using the rod shop mounts with a dart single plane on dart pro 1 platinum 200's and it looks like I have about 100mm-110mm which is smaller than my carb so I'll have to do some bonnet mods or get a fibreglass reverse cowl bonnet. I was trying to stay away from that to keep an original look.

Installed my balancer and alternator today had to grind a little off the water pump and I have a sweet black morosso timing pointer that doesn't fit with my timing cover. I also read a few things about these balancers flying to pieces so have a few things to think about now.

    HI
    Peter Griffin
    Thanks for measuring .
At a guess u can only go as low as the engine sump lets u . What is your sump clearance to crossmember ??? Brand of sump??
I will try to find out the manifold /carby pad height of the Dart single plane .

19 Single-Plane Small-Block Chevy Intakes Test - Hot Rod Network
Dual Plane Intake Manifold Comparisons - Hot Rod Network

    caution
different manifold makers can give only front or rear and not the average . Even the magazines get it wrong .Check port sizes also.

weiand x cellerator 3.5 inch pad height
    eldelbrock Torker 2 ,,,, 4 inch
Weiand / Holley Team G actually 4.9 av carb height
Eldebrock Victor Jr 5 inch pad h
Dart single 5.6 inch pad h could not verify this

    edelbrock rpm air gap 4.75

weiand ,elderbrock I sourced from there sites .

Carby typical Holley 4150 style eg 750vac sec base to air cleaner mount surface 3.25 inch
Total height 4.5 inch to 5 inch [has to be confirmed ]
