HQ premier.. Build #3 :( last chance rebuild
A lot will know of my HQ premier on airbags -
Well, in may this year, on the way to work, it met yet another untimely demise. Blah blah blah you were driving like an idiot.
Only myself and the police officer that watched what happened will know.
All that matters is Shannon's insurance was great, as usual and after getting a very below par quote from a shop in Adelaide, suggested I take it to a shop near home in Vic.
Loaded it up, dropped it off. Subsequent quote was over twice the last one!!!
Much umming and arring led to the purchase of a HJ with engineered big block and 9"

Well I got the HQ home, into the shed and under wraps for a bit.
I drove the HJ around for 6 months. Fixing minor bugs and issues. Before deciding I wanted the HQ finished..
Sold the turbo setup I had for a small block that was planned for the Q.
Pulled the running gear, aeromotive fuel system, ignition etc out of the HJ and gave it to a mate, who in turn, will be repairing the front of the HQ, minitubbing and possibly c-notching the rear end in trade.
Bought another set of wheels - 15x10 3 3/8" with 295/50 treads. Plan is to still air out over them.
Measure 2000mm sidewall to sidewall. HQ lips measure 1880mm to inside edge. Bit to come off the diff haha.

So for now, I've pulled the big block down. Even after new cam and gaskets a few months ago as it needs new cam bearings, new timing gear and a little more comp haha.
Possibly a large solid roller in the works from an ex drag boat.

Engine looked alright before hand. New plan is chev orange block, powder coated black on all alloy parts.
Power after a tiny cam update and new carb. The zigzaggy red lines were the original run when I got the car. Running a dual plane corvette manifold, and demon 750. Now big single plane and QF 950dp.

Diff out of the Q sold in 2 minutes to vido and Dylan for HQING.
Engine is tentatively sold to a mate (the 202)
Just leaves the WB caprice front to sell!

Pulled the pan off the trans and started pulling the guts out.. The intermediate sprag has also collapsed at first look

Hey mate im new to this site iv got a hx s/w with a sbc I wanted to maybe do airbags one days how hard was it to do in your Q?
