HQ tonner build
Hey guys
thought i should throw up my build.
Bought the HQ earlier this year and thought i should make my own thread so i'm not filling up the forum.
At the moment i'll mainly be looking for advice because money is thin and I'm just going to be getting it roadworthy and LPGed first than later this year i'll be making more significant changes.
This is it when it was bought - the last owner did a really dodgy paintjob so any scratches come up a brilliant shade of yellow.
(tell me if i'm doing the image adding wrong)
I don't actually have a shed at the moment to put it in so i can't do any bodywork (if anyone in brisbane wants to donate theirs...)
My plans for it are to shave the door handles and make the back flat, get a wood tray, gunmetal streeters, colour is atomic metallic green and i'll be running it on LPG
Once i get off my P's i'll be putting in a v8 but until then its just the stock 202. I want to keep everything under the bonnet so thoughts for the v8 at the moment are a 454 or 383 and i'm open to suggestions. The v8 would be straight LPG as well
Cheers

Looks like a good starter, keep the posts coming
Whatever women do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good.
Luckily, this is not difficult.

That rear window sounds like a good idea but im not sure if i could fit that and subs behind the bench seat.
I still have the support and nose cone if you're interested but you'd have to organise delivery.
I also have a single headlight nose cone - same as the one i put on but no grille if anyone is interested
tonnergirl - thanks for the support. hopefully cash becomes more abundant :S
cheers

yeah personally i'm a huge fan of the single headlight front but i see where you're coming from
fired it up today and all is running well. Looks like it's not too far away from a roadworthy
Heres the vid (might take a little while to load)
also what do you guys know about line locks and if they can somehow be done legally

PM sent
Yeah the battery is all good. Nice to have it actually fire up lol, and quickly at that. Tyre looks a bit out of place next to the 3 balding ones. and the idle speed is quite good now. Not perfect though.
Latest question: What does everyone know about shaving door handles. Been looking at the door opening kit from airbagit.com.au and was wondering if anyones seen it cheaper or better

In terms of engine work all i've done is replace the spark plugs and reco the carby. I'm wanting to swap it out for a v8 once i'm off my Ps so i don't want to be spending too much money on it.
And it will be matt black for the rest of the year/till i have the funds and then it's going to be atomic metallic green - its the colour on VE commodores
Cheers
