Default Electrical issues 1973 VH Sedan

    Hi there,

Looking for input on a few electrical issues I'm having with one of my valiants.

There is a short or some crossed wires somewhere in the works. If i flick the indicators on the gauges (temp and amps) start flicking in time with the indicator lights. Also when the headlights are on the gauges go all over the place and don't read properly. Also the fuel gauge doesn't read correct at any time at all.

Anyone know if any of these issues might be a simple fix? Any help would be much appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Ben

I'd start with looking at/cleaning all the earth points for the wiring harnesses including the battery terminals. Ideally any earth point on the chassis should be on clean bare metal to ensure good continuity.

Sorted thanks! Where the earth cable from the battery bolts to the body was all rusty. Gave it a bit of a clean up as well as some other earth wires and all good.

    Cheers!
