Last time I checked the regs it was weight in kg x 3 = max capacity engine with turbo in cc ..

So 3880LBS (you are allowed the heaviest vehicle in the range) is 1760kg x 3 = 5280cc or around 322 cubes, so bit under the 350 mark.. For naturally aspirated its x5 so you could go a 537 cube big block max..

I'd still talk to an engineer, because I have seen a lot of stuff around that according to that formula shouldnt be..

What car do you own mate, and how heavy? What size engine did you get allowed with the single turbo?

    I have a hq
As long as it was a factory engine option you can supercharge or turbo it.
Hq came out with a 350 so it wasnít a problem.

    Itís a 383 but I told them it was a 350.

rather than guess I would check properly, then you will know for sure. It would give me the sharts if I did something as a compromise of what I would like to have done only to find what I wanted in the first place was doable

I have no problem lying to transport officials, or those who report to them but you dont think you would have got thru saying it was a 383?

and rightfully so,,, after all we would only be returning the favour. The only problem would be if you were young and involved in a fatal accident and the car is impounded for inspection.... At my age I don't give a fuuck as to the consequences.

I know a guy who used to be a transport inspector and he knows his stuff.

He told me a story years ago about how he pulled over a modified/complianced V8 Jeep one time and the guy assured him that it's legal with a V8 in it. He said "yeah I know but not a big block Chev". The Jeep owner shit himself and said something like "you're the first one who's noticed".

Needless to say it got put off the road.
