    Default Exhaust advice..

Any suggestions on my exhaust please? Wb tonner. 350 chev with a hyd roller. 230/235 @ 50. 500 lift. 3500 converter. Will be upgraded to a 383 in a couple of years, and eventually run on straight LPG. Exhaust man thinks twin 2 and a half is too big for the 350 but OK.for the 383 down the track. Definitely want twin pipes though..

    Definitely the 2 1/2”.
    I run twin 2 1/2” behind 500hp 372 and feel it’s restrictive.

    Hi
The tri y are the restrictive part for allout max performance .
Current headers and twin 2.5 inch is fine .
But in your case street driver tri y are fine .

Remember part throttle performance /response is improved when u go for for moderate sized system . THE DYNO SHEETS DONOT TELL U THAT .

On Motor Trend [engine masters] Look it up 4 exact figures.
    4 into 1
    2.5 inch twin
    2x straight thru muffs

From memory good for 550 hp around 400cuin
In total lost 20hp approx. very little when compared to same setup but in 3inch

Anything PAST the collector, you cant go too BIG... You size an exhaust via primary and collectors, in a Tri-Y you size by where it branches off... A muffled system past that, it doesnt matter you go as big as you possibly can.

When you put an engine on a dyno, it makes the most power without a restrictive, long, muffled system...

If your exhaust guy is telling you this, they are mistaken, and you should laugh at them...

Good advice boys. Thank you. Exactly why i' m asking. Street driving and nice throttle response is the goal.3.5 gears and the converter should make it a nice little cruiser..

My collectors are 2 1/4. Ended up going to 3 inch from there, but into a single system due to being a commodore.

If I had a tonner I'd go 4-1 in a heartbeat. Only because you can. Work out performance later. Lol
