600hp ls1
Been a while since I've posted anything
On here so here it goes,,
Need people's opinions on 600hp
Ls1 on e85 with big comp, not interested in Boost I'd like to keep it na,
Occasional weekend local cruiser
So it will be a street strip car,,
What are your thoughts on
Solid roller's compared to hyd roller
In ls1, will be running forged pistons and
H beams etc,, and yes it will be Efi,,
Any known recipe's out there,?

Does it have to be LS1 platform? You'll be stroking it anway so get the iron LQ9 block ...
If you must keep LS1 block then do the 4" stroker crank it'll make 383, good set of heads ported by someone good or aftermarket, keep hydraulic roller get a FAST or Super Vic EFI ..

^^ Same.
Only way I'd go ls1 is in nsw no need for engineers apparently..otherwise i'd do cam only, trunion & valve spring upgrade,th400 with stally then see how it will go into 10's before kaboom.Even without shave heads ptv is b*tch
If willing to run a 6 litre it would do it so much easier, engine would be mostly stocker part, run on e85 & shockingly drivable.
Check dogsballs old vz ls2 cam,11 ish comp with valve reliefs by drill, trunion upgrade,1 7/8s...had 4.11's,4l65 was only thing stopped it from 10's & car weight.
Later on he did vk 6l bigger cam, single plane manifold etc th350 went low 10's then sold before did a 9.

Following . Imo , the money that you put into an ls1 could be put towards a better platform such as a LS2/L98 or even LS3

Sorry no huge updates as yet
Been flat out,,
Still have heaps to do on the car,
Sorting out brakes etc
Bonnet revers cowl and finalise
Wiring,,
Originally I was planning on using a t56 with 4.11 Richmond gears for the comfort of occasional cruise,, dunno how much of a pig it will be lol,,
Also what sort of times down the 1/4 with t56 and 600hp ls?

No point going iron block , too heavy and 4.00 bore . Go ls2 - at least u get 243 heads or l98 where u make big power with cam only . Ls3 gives you 4.060 bore , add a 4 inch crank and u got 416ci or so . Ls1 is gona cost u more in the long run .

can I ask why you want 600hp??
usually cars are built wanting to go 9,10,11's or circuit etc. From the pics of the rear it looks like a drag only application so how quick are you wanting to go? is price an option? and engineering?
if no price, no engineering I would suggest a LSA, cam plus pulley and tune will net you 600hp if not more and will be reliable and will live happy life.
If on a budget a simply LS1 with cam and some home porting will get you close on a very small budget
