    Default Priority oil mains system

    Hi Guys,
    I just purchased a Dart Little-M Sports Man block for my next re-build & i wanted to know if i need to run oil restrictors the block has a priority main oil system so does this mean its already restricting oil to the top? Has anyone used these blocks before what do you think of them?

    I cannot directly answer your question but I can say this & suspect the same applies. Dart BigM has priority oil also & with solid roller lifters oil restrictors are NOT recommended.

    My SHP block is also priority mains oiling and we didnt fit restrictors. A few times we had the rocker covers off after running ,it didnt seem to have excessive oil sitting around top end. Oil pressure sits around 80 psi just cruising when its cold. This is mainly a street engine.

    okay well i'm using a solid camshaft & lifters, using restrictors may stop all oil going to the top in that block & i don't want that! cheers guys.

    i pretty sure that if you put in normal restrictors it could restrict oil to the main oil gallery because of the main priority system, which could end in tears lol.... i have one of there iron eagle blocks which i think would be similar and it says to use pipe plugs drilled to size for the correct oil flow in the lifter gallery.

    Lostit- Its a SBC
    Justin_308- These pipe plugs are fitted in the same place the restrictors are?

    the block comes with a booklet that show pictures were to put them. if i wasn't a retard i could post them up but i will give it a try tomorrow lol
