Default How wide are your reverse cowl bonnet scoop?

Got an old bonnet that I was going to cut up to make a reverse cowl bonnet. Was wondering how wide the cowls are and if you have any pictures of them on your car?

    Cheers and thank you

Normally you'd make it big enough to house the air cleaner plus a couple inches space around it (with the usual V8 air cleaner being 14" diameter). If its custom made then whatever works, works - and the rest is more aesthetics/proportions and maybe some consideration to external aerodynamics.

Like 76lx said, you cut the hole to suit the air filter not the cowl. The cowl just covers it.

I already have the hole in my bonnet and have an forward facing fiberglass scoop. Just wanted to know how wide people have theirs and a picture for reference so I can bend my scrap bonnet up to form a reverse cowl. I just didn't want to make one that was either too skinny or too wide that it wouldn't suit the car.

    Fair enough.
If it helps, my basic A9X type one is 560 wide tapering to 510 wide at the front, 75 high, 880 long with a 20mm flange right round.

Mine is about 560 wide where it meets the bonnet, tapering to 520 wide at the top, i.e looking at the cross section, the sides are not vertical, they taper in.
    Hope this helps
