Performance air pod filters, do they work?
Performance air pod filters, do they really offer any benefits over the various brand names? And does a dirty air filter effect performance? To answer all these questions check out the video below!

Hi
Pod filters only work if the original is /was restrictive . then there is the differences between the brands . Does your pod suck cold or hot air ?
The original filter canbe dirty and not restrict the airflow ,it depends on how close the airflow of the filter matches the the demand of the engine .
Some shapes of filter housings can improve power basically by organising the airflow direction . [mainly with carby]

I'd be more worried about the filtration capability of a foam style filter.

Hi
Paper filters rely upon "restriction" to filter.
Foam /oiled filters rely on oil either by soaking or spraying surface . No oil reduces there filtering ability but lets more dirt thru . Must be serviced regularly.

Performance air pod filters, do they work?
They must also be oiled correctly.
I over oiled my k&n, not knowing any better. Lost like 10-15rwkw on the dyno. Cleaned it again and gave it a slight oil and found my missing power.

Hi
What the oiled filter industry does not tell is the more vibration its exposed to the more the oil migrates to the bottom of the filter . This equals more servicing . This applies to the heavily soaked filters style but also the light oil K&n style as well .
The good part about K&n style if u have an engineering issue with a filter for your application they will help u to get a solution .
