Hey guys,
I have an idea to build a tough V8 car sometime this year. After being set on a tough 351 clevo (or 393ci stroker) XD Falcon, I'm now wanting a 355ci stroker LX Torana. All this hype about 'V8s are the best' etc, got me thinking they must be great, so I'll build one. The problem is, I've never been in an 8-cylinder car of any kind in my entire life. So my question/begging/pleading to anyone in Perth with a tough V8 is, are you able to take me for a drive? I should specify I don't want to go in a forced inducted 8, or a crazy nitrous fed 9 sec monster. Something relatively fast though. I'm located north of river. Regards, Jason (thanks in advance to anyone willing to help me out) |

Easy way to do it tho rofl and he wont be the only one to say "ill get back to you" plenty of people do that as an easy way out of saying you dont want the car

Take yourself down to a dealer and have a drive of an auto VT or VX SS gen 3. You'll probably end up buying it.
Try a manual as well, but if you've only ever had a four pot then you might want to try an auto first. A V8 is not like a four or a six, and a five litre holden (and especially a 355) makes an absolute crapload of torque really low down and can churn up the tyres at 1500 - 2000 rpm with ease making them quite dangerous in novice hands in wet weather. It can be a little 'upsetting' when you first loose traction in a V8 car at 30 km/h and 3rd gear because your driving it like a four ;-) Seriously though, once you drive one I can guarantee you'll never want to go back to a four or six banger. Welcome ;-) |
