Default 600-650 holley

hey all, am after a holley carb for a 308 that is currenly looking down the barrel of a mid 14 with a 465 holley on it. am switching final drive ratios and wish to put a larger carb on.
first: any suggestions for which carb to use?
second: anybody want to unload a carb on me that will work (no wrecks please)
thanks
Ash.

squarebore or spreadbore? I have been told over the years to stay away from the spreadbore carbs, why? what are the main differences?

It's a square bore. Don't think it would work mate, talk about to much fuel.
Cost me $1800 bucks, heaps of mods done to it.
I think spreadbores are mainly for vac sec?? Probably wrong though

oh, no... I was just asking in general mate, somebody has offered me a spreadbore 650 and I was wondering what the go is with them.
I don't want your carbie mate... it may be too big for my application.
if you want to part with it though, I'll give you a hundred bucks for it!!

nothing wrong with a spread bore carb,
Q jets are a spread bore carb & GM made millions of them world wide, only surpassed by fuel injection,
but all you need is a 600 v/s holley or Q jet,
Iv got a very nice 600 v/s here but it owes me over $300 if you want to make a sencible offer I would consider parting with it, its on my 351 so I dont realy want to sell it but this 308 is gobbling up cash so make an offer

Mate go for either 4hunjy or unorthodoxes carbs, they sound like what you need.
Atleast you know they work, thats the main thing.
