Default Easternats - Who's going?

Just wondering inf anyone out there is going to Easternats this year?

I am a little bit torn because of $$$$ reasons. The HG will most likely be finished just in time, but they have put the entry fee up to $200!!!!!! This plus trailer hire and fuel and misc extras might leave me short. Most likely be a $6-700 weekend. I am thinking of going racing at the Eastside cruisers drag day instead. That is on the 21st of April.

Hi Lx, Mate im in the same boat, been going to easternats since it started and entering a car for about 5 years and this might be the first one ill miss. It was more fun when only 300 odd cars were there, now hes talking 750 its just too busy. As an entrant you miss most of the weekend anyway cause your stuck on the back straight for hours pushing your car around for maybe 2 runs up the track in the drags. The go to whoa is the only event I do any good in (sub ten with mega wheelspin) so its not worth 200 bucks for one day. In my humble and often way out opinion there needs to be some changes for the good of the event.

1. Cut the entries to about 450 cars, how I dont know but maybe have a cut off year unless wildly modded (wheels and neons dont count)

2. Cut the time allocated to burnouts (Controversial I know, but who can honestly sit through that many over the three days)

3.Split the drags up into street and comp. How this is scrutineered I dont know, maybe run blown, tubbed and Andra logged cars in comp.

Anyway im sorry to bitch in your thread mate, on reflection the drag day is looking pretty good.

I emailed Jon Davison and suggested he think about changing the street drag rules. I suggested make a simple rule ; Steel belted street legal tyres only. This will even up the competition a bit. Back halved drag cars will have to use street tyres.

I know if I dont go I will spew about not going, but my wallet will thank me. I started going to the easternats when it first started, it was awsome. I got so much track time in my Torana. Now it had become a traffic jam everywhere you go.

The more I talk about it, the more I am talking myself out of handing over the $200.

I can't make it to Easternats this year... I was bummed at first, but then when I saw the cost, and factored in all the other costs as well... I was kinda glad in a way. I'm just concentrating now on the Eastside drag day as well....full steam ahead for that one.

Over the Easter weekend we're actually driving up to Penrith in NSW in Deb's EH for EH club all-state weekend, so will be a great weekend and something a bit different. I doubt there will be a burnout comp, but who knows, lol!!!

Back on the topic of Easternats though - I also agree numbers should be cut, I reckon 500 would be a good number. It's still a great event for entrants, but it's certainly becoming bloody pricey between the increase in entry and also fuel prices....

I'll be there just not to drive.. but will be driven so its all good.

plenty of pics up for ya guys.

I agree with you guys, about the entry amount, it should be cut down and burnout time should be cut too because I got bored watchin the 1st 20 cars but then a good 1 comes up n all so you stay n go n yada yada.

I'm with some of you guys. I have a strong desire to enter my car for my first event but there is the cost and value for money which has won out. I'm concentrating on the Eastside drag day too, only 50 cars going to be there

this was my first time iv entered, i agree the price is a tad high as they charge $40 for just spectators. the que to get on the track is massive unless u r early and then waiting for ages and also so much traffic out on the track. so much that a vs stato run up the arse of a hx monaro. havent seen to much cop trouble yet but there is still tomorrow night.
