Default LEGAL offstreet drag strip in the south east

Guys.

There is a meet for people to support the push for a new LEGAL offstreet drag strip in the south east.
Redline car club supports this action and will fully back the idea.

Word got out fast last time about a meet last Wednesday.
Lets make it even better and really show the Local Cities how bad we want this.

Support for new legal offstreet drags in the South East.

This will be the biggest thing to happen in the South East suburbs of Victoria.

When: Wednesday 12th September (THATS TOMORROW PEOPLE
Time: 7:00pm Sharp

Anyone from the area who reads the local paper will realise the bastard council will never allow the airfield to be used for drags. Tooradin is a sleepy little town (no offence intended) and the residents will jack up big time. Casey council has just passed bylaws that stop trailbikes being ridden on private property between certain hours because neighbours complain. How the hell would a dragstrip get up and running? Maybe a noise limit , say 95db at 30metres would keep the noise down. Its a shame because i'd be there every week.

i hear u there man.
Read the local papers the other day.
I was thinking, an idea might be to organise peaceful gatherings every week in certain places in the south east to really rally this idea.
Just don't know how hard that would be to organise.

The real problem is no one will start any action. Every one just farts around and nothing ever gets done. No one has even put it to council yet!!
After that big meet a month ago still nothing has been done.

No one believes in tooradin any more because they couldnt organise an orgy. Wheres all this money and this big club that was going to put proposals and plans to council?

The point is that the council has openly stated that no motorsport facility can be given a permit in the city of casey. The bracks government "green wedge" legislation pretty much stops a new facility being built in the designated area and local council will stop any existing areas being used for such a purpose. All gathering in numbers will do is aggravate locals and draw unwarranted police attention. Its a shame because local police have stated they would support something that cuts the incidents of "hoon" behaviour. The mythical new dragstrip being developed by andra and others will more than likely be built in the western suburbs where it is of no benefit to us on the long ignored se suburbs. Maybe look further east such as towards warrigul. Only 40 minutes down the freeway and easier to get to for us, imagine the support from the far eastern crowds, their closest track is bairnsdale and a four wheel drive would be hardpressed to run sraight there. Not trying to diss the efforts made thus far but realistically it's never going to happen..

Well the guy that orgonised the meet at the air strip seems pritty serious. He's orgonising a massive meet at sandown soon to show how serious we all are about the drag strip. I believe hiring sandown is another option but they wouldnt let him because they didnt think he would get enough people to make up the money.

Its been a month since they said that.. and still there has not been a word afterwards.
If someone wants to hire sandown they can... you dont need to prove you can afford it.
Drags at sandown wont happen though.
