Default Drum to Disc Conversion WB

    Hi all,
My WB ute Brake Master cyclinder is u/s, currently it has V8 10 bolt salisbury diff with drum brakes fitted.
As I have a WB statesman wreck in the shed with Disc brakes, I pulled the axles out of it and everything seems to be able to bolt up to the diff in the ute. That doesn't seem to be to big of a job. I can then change the Master cyclinder and Vaccum setup from the statesman to the ute. So Hydraulically everything should work fine.
The only real trouble i see is the hand brake cable to the leaf springs. Do you swap the calipers over to the opposite sides, to enable more room?
Do i get new hand brake cables made to suit?
Do you think it's worthwhile doing or should i just get the current master cyclinder overhauled and forget about disc's on the back end?
Thanks for your help in advance.

if you want to do it for looks do it. if you want to do it for better braking then not worth it. as the handbrake setup on the wb disc rear is crap!! i am converting my salsbury to vp disk rear when i get my new custom made 16" rims and put my vt front brakes on. the handbrake setup is much better as they use a drum setup for the handbrake inside the disk unlike the wb rear disc which uses a mechanice lever to pull on the caliper which u noticed about the fitting to utes. if you go with the wb disc then u will need to drill new holes for the caliper bracket. and just rotate it around a bit. if you have lowering blocks then u dont need to rotate it at all.hope that helps.

Thanks Acco and jason, I just went and bought a new master cyclinder and kept the original system. I was not going to stuff around getting new cables made. I spoke to another holden bloke and he also said that i would be wasting my time for little or no benefit.
    Thanks for the replies
