Default trimatic wont change till revs are high

    hey guys

did a quick search but no luck.

just wondering if anyone can tell me why in my 202 trimatic, that all of a sudden it wont change gears untill it sounds like its revving its tits off?

it wont change into second untill i get up to about 60km/ph
then wont change till third will around 90-100km/ph

    what would be causing this,
and how can i fix it?

    Cheers
    Woody

The vacuum modulator line has fallen off. It goes from carby to back of transmission. On the right hand side at the bottom.

theres no line from back of carby to gbox, the only line coming from gbox, goes to a T peice thats in the manifold, and the other part of the T peice goes to the brake booster.

Does that make sense or so i need to explain it bit better?

I dont think its the factory manifold or carby, as it looks different to my previous one, and a carby that fit on that 202, wont fit on this one.

check that the t piece is not full of carbon which is a common prob also check the line like vhg308 said also.

Check the line from the manifold is not blocked or fallen off.
I should have added from carby or manifold.

the rubber on the end of the steel line that connects to the modulator can crack too. Replace that and make sure it is pressed right in when you put it on.

at the box where the line comes from should be a cylinder this cylinder is a vacume kick down switch witch begin to break down with age and needs to be replaced check lines and t piece first if no probs remove this part and go see your local auto tranny guys a new one is less than $50
