    Default HK front drums

    Howdy gang,
Long story short just curious to know what's required to make front drums work as well as they can...? Heard a few old timers say front drums are fine if adjusted & maintained properly, they just fade quicker than discs.
How do I adjust / check adjustment on them?? Any help appreciated!
    Cheers.

they were probly good back in the day mate, but buy the time you stuff around with them, you could have a set of hq disks on there and working better than the hk drums ever would.

Adj them the same as rear drums , they'll fade due to heat and being on the front where most of the braking force is they will heat
up quick and take a while to cool cos they're so bulky , if the car wasn't so heavy i'd say keep them and stuff around .

Yeah, will only keep them as long as I have to financially, but need to make them work good for now.
So what's the correct proceedure for adjustment?

Considering that all parts are good , there is an adjustment screw at the bottom of the drum on the inside between the 2 shoes it can be adjusted through a slot
at the base of the backing plate by a flat head screwie and turning the wheel every so often to see how tight / loose they,re getting ,
take off the drum an have a look to get an idea it will make more sense then my retarded effort !

    * check the thickness of the brake pad lining , too thin is no good and check the hyd cyl at the top leaking is no good

.... So correct adjustment is just making sure they're all the same?
