    Default Hj Stato

You may have noticed that that I have been asking for the Stato to be chopped abit.

This is because I have started to remove all the rust and touch up all the body work.

The engine will be coming out and have not decided if it will be going back in yet.

Will post some pics once i take some.

Well it has been 5 months now and I'm still working on the old girl. I have decided to go with the Silver / Black finish.

    Now my next question is.

I'm thinking of removing the Dash and replacing it with one from either a late model Stato or VY commy.

Will either of these Dashes fit?

As far as I'm aware they do not fit, the whole profile of the dash is different in every way. Form the length to width. This aside I have seen it done with a VS Commo dash a few years back.

They both could be made to fit with the right amount of time and money...

It's been done before with VR / VS dashes.

One (major) problem aside from the physical dimensions is getting all of the instruments to work with out the required BCM / ECU setup.

Or you could fit the commo dash with autometer gauges, this will require a new instrement panel though. Would be easier.
