Drags back at AIR ... - Aussie V8 | Holden - Ford

Ohk i know this sounds to good to be true but i have heard from some people AIR will be opening in september for street drags.. There was an online survey on the internet collecting interest i guess what recently just finished on dragmania.com.au... The track has been resurfaced even though a minor misshap down the braking end where machinery dug a big hole through a technical misshap.

I hope this is the case and we can finally have a track back in SA...

Unfortunately it will only be good for street drags and it wont be ANDRA sanctioned. Uncle Bob should have fixed the problems years ago instead of leaving drag racers out in the cold for the last few years. Funny how quick he responded once the chance of a new Adelaide track became real.
Having said all that, when it reopens I will be there as a spectator and entrant, just dont expect to see Top Fuellers or Doorslammers there again.

I've had the same things said to me, the company i work for had an excavator workin movin dirt for new viewing mounds i'm spewin they didn't send me there to do the job to get some inside info.

yeh never say never. Everything moves at a smails pace in regards to that track, it might be september 2011.

we im just hanging to take a run SOLID down the AIR 1/4 its been a while.....hope it all happens

monthly streetmeets just like the old days its better than we got now

the latest thing i've heard bout the drags is the first street meet is gonna be bout a month after gazzanats and then once a month after that, but they're gonna have a 10 second shut off. so if your car runs quicker than a 10 you'll be told to load up and flock off. i go there a fair bit for work. i get excited every time i drive in there even though i'm in a truck
