Default Murray Bridge Autofest 2008

Hi all, thought i would start early in the lead up for the 2008 Autofest remembering its now only 8 months away.
Booked our accommodation recently and was suprised when the lady told me that 47 boats have already been booked so for those wanting accommodation i would sugest you get in now.
Was over in Murray Bridge the other weeks for meetings with Council,Police and SA Goverment in regards to our future plans and all is looking great.
Some of the things put on the table were, inproved public safety, catering, security, more parking and more marketing Murray Bridge as a destination
Anyone with IDEA`S on how to improve what we do don`t be shy,let us know and we will see what we can do.
Also have had plenty of people enquiring about trade sites and for those wanting to secure a site email the team at springnats@hotmail.com

Catch you all soon
Regards Les

Best accommodation will be Houseboat check out www.ozhouseboats.com.au and stay at the event,What a way to go,

hi les i never went last year due to my expected police over presence, i was expecting something like shepparton where the police set up road blocks and pull over any one with a hotted up vehicle and inspect them supposedly for drugs and illegal firearms only to give most vehicles a defect sticker. did you hear many reports of police being over zealous on a defenceless body, aka modified car enthusiasts?

cheers adam

Hi Benny,All our events are similar to Springnats with driving events burnouts etc.
As for Police presence, this was very minimal, seen one defect and a couple of entrants told me that they got done for speeding on the way up from Adelaide, mostly police worked with us and you should have seen the street cruise, people 5 deep along both sides of the main drag, what event offers that in OZ.
Cheers Les

Yeah, I cruised up to the Bridge for a look see and on the way up passed through 5 speed cameras. There were no cops pulling over people to defect however, which was good to see.

Inside the event there were plenty of burnouts on offer with a mix of V8's, 6's and some rice too. Not heaps of cars on show, but it was only the first year so would expect many more this year. There was also drifting demos and go to whoa. Certainly an event I will once again be attending.

MEDIA RELEASE

Murray Bridge Autofest 2008.

South Australians should be proud that their Goverment are sponsoring the Murray Bridge Autofest 2008

This has got to be Great news for all car enthuists as it does show that some Goverments do see the benifits that we all bring to their regions.Springnats in Victoria is also sponsored by the Victorian Goverment. As in any sponsorship these partnerships are an important part on the makeup of any event and a must at keeping prices to the Entrant and Spectator to a minimun.

We all under stand that as costs of hire, insurance, employment etc etc continue to increase we need to continue to attract corporate sponsorship to help keep costs to you as low as possible as well as also lifting the profile of our sport/hobby.

The Rural City of Murray Bridge is continuing its strong suport and have already finding ways on how the Supercruise could be extended as well as increased public parking areas.

ALSO you can Enter the Show and Shine ONLY for $100.00 and this also pays for TWO people and an Event T-Shirt But cannot be apart of any driving events apart from the Supercruise.

Like This year there will be a special interest parking area closer to the events where you will be able to keep a closer eye on your ride.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Express Motoring Group (EMG) teams up with Springnats

Express Motoring Group (EMG), responsible for such iconic Australian performance motoring magazine titles as Extreme Street, Street Commodores, Hot4s, Fast Fours and Zoom, has teamed up with Les Adams and Daryl George, the brains behind the equally renowned modified automotive events Springnats and Autofest.

Now exclusive media partners with Springnats, Murray Bridge Autofest and Wodonga Autofest, all 10 EMG magazine titles will be making a strong, concerted presence at each of the three events, starting November 23 in Shepparton, VIC, with the 15th anniversary of Springnats.

Besides the super-strong line-up of events that make up Springnats, expect to see some of the country’s top feature cars on display around our trade stand, which will hold a wide array of merchandise, back issues, DVDs and other branded paraphernalia for you to sample. We’ll bring you more information on which of our top feature cars will attend the show as the weeks progress.

Springnats is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and the event is set to go off with a mighty bang! Watch as the monster skidpan roars into life with driving events and demonstration drifting, burnouts and a ton more action. Or, stroll down to the purpose-built burnout pad to witness one of the most hotly contested burnout comps in the country!

Attracting up to 30,000 spectators annually and bringing over $14 million to the region over the weekend of the show, Springnats is an important event on the annual Australian car show calendar, and one that is not to be missed as it celebrates its 15th birthday.

These events provide a huge boon for promotion of any business that wishes to hold trade displays over the weekend, allowing companies to get their wares in front of up to 30,000 punters. For information on trade display costings, contact Les Adams on: 0417 511 557.

Head to www.springcarnationals.com for all the information on Springnats and the Autofest events.

Back from Summernats for a couple weeks then off to Murray Bridge, sounds like January is going to be a busy one for me. I like the idea of a special interest carpark too, people with nice classic cars entered in the events or not don't want to park them in the carpark next to someones magna, well I know I don't anyway.
It could also act as a viewing area if the public has walkthru access?
Can't think of a better way to celebrate Australia day!
