Default 1976 HJ ute

Well unfortunately the sale of the ute fell through so I'm offering it here.

Rebuilt bare metal respray 2001. Respray November 2005 Custom blue with grey and black interior.
All rust removed and replaced with metal welded in. Fishoiled every 12 months.
HZ Premier twin headlight front.
253 V8 and Trimatic transmission. 55000k’s on both since full rebuild.
Electronic ignition.
Blade style fuses. Not the old glass style.
VP 90 watt alternator
Halogen headlights. 360 watts.
Statesman interior.
Statesman dash with fake carbon fibre trim and full GTS instruments (tacho etc).
Power windows – Tinted.
Central locking.
Intermittent wipers.
Grey cloth headlining.
Vision rolling code, battery backup alarm with remote that also unlocks the doors.
New Gen gas conversion.
4 barrell Rochester carburettor.
Extractors and 2 ½ inch custom single exhaust with twin 3 inch dumpy pipes.
WB Statesman Caprice mags.
Statesman wheel arch, sill and door trims (chrome).
Full width rear bumper with rubber strip. Front and back same colour as car.
Lowered.
New thermo fans November 2007.
New (not reconditioned) heavy duty radiator August 2006.
Rebuilt front suspension bushes and ball joints February 2007.
Air conditioning. Working retrofit R134a. New A/C pump March 2007.
Power steering.
Flat tarp (dark blue) although the trim is a bit shabby around the edges.
Registered to August 2008.
Kenwood CD player.
100 watt Pioneer speakers.
Sheepskin seat covers (grey)
New carpet when I got it on the road (grey).
Original Holden jack and wheel brace.
3.08:1 diff. (banjo single spinner)
Front disks and rear drums replaced 10,000 k’s ago with brake pads shoes and wheel cylinders.
Custom fuel filler.
Rear air shockers.
Roadworthy certificate.

The body has no rust as it was all removed when rebuilt and I give it an annual bath in fishoil. It is not flawless but still looks very good and a number of spares will come with it on sale if wanted.

The photos were taken before the bump strips were fitted. The blue in the photos is not quite right. Slightly darker than shown but it's the ones I had already taken.

I'm after $8500 which is negotiable. This is much less than the car owes me.

say it aint so doc,

If I was looking for an old girl for a daily, id be on to this like white on rice.

Dont go much below 9k unless your desperate, good utes are hard to find...

Good luck.

Edit, Actually, dont negotiate at all (unless your desperate), having someone whinge about a few hundred bucks is the worst thing about selling cars.

Last edited by greenhj; 11-04-2008 at 06:02 PM. Reason: decided that utes worth 9k, no less...

Yep unfortunately it is so. Bought a VW Bora for the other half and inherited the VX. It's quite a nice car to drive and the Bora is very good as well. As I put in the previous car thread:-

Time for a change. Been thinking about it for about 6 months and finally decided to get a more modern car. I know the older cars have more character but I've got to the stage where I need to drive something a bit more upper class than a 32 year old ute. I suppose I get spoilt at work driving the latest V8's & turbos but I'm obviously a slow learner. Taken 26 years to realise.

Yep, I'm a bit sad about it. I'd keep it if I could but haven't got the room.

Probably wouldn't hurt thanks Russ. (And make it a sticky) haha Went for the roadworthy yesterday but missed on a couple of things. Spent all today on the concrete in the garage changing spring bushes etc and then he rings me and says he can't get finance.
