Default ROD Rules in SA

Im thinkin about buyin a rod.If i bought one in Vic could I register it here.Can I have the motor exposed?Any help would be appreciated

what sort of body were you thinking? a friend has a 28 essex with a 350 in it and his motor is some what exposed, to be quite honest theres nothing but engine from the radiator support panel until the fire wall and has never had a problem with trnsport SA, as for rego it should only be a matter of a police station inspection to change rego from one state to the next, i know when my mate moved from NSW when he changed the rego on his laser the police only wanted to inspect the car to run the particulars throught the system to make it wasnt stolen or written off before they transfered the rego

Thanx LX.What you described sounds like the car.Its a 28 Ford , 351C c4 trans? Centura diff.It was on ebay and is in this months just cars.All depends if i can sell my Monaro.Been offered 40k.Not sure what to do

no worrys walruss, i hope you make the decision that makes you happiest. also if you need a good mechanic thats into rods my mechanic in goolwa is the one with the essex, he also owns a 27 model T with the doctors roof and a 302 and various other hot cars

Thanx Adam , I didnt realise you were from sa.Theres an older dude in my town who came to our fathers day car show with a couple of LHs and i think he said hes got 2 or 3 SLRs.Had a couple of nice original ones at the show.whats the name of youre mechanic.Do tou live in Goolwa.My Dads got the bookshop there/Thanx again for ypore infr.

nah i live in victor up near repco, that book shop your dad owns is that the second hand book shop between goolwa tender chooks or what ever its called these days and the new lingerie shop? oh yeah and my mechanic i swear by is greg button from goolwa motor works that guy is a bloody genius, hes right into his rods so the next time your down maybe you shold go and speak to him youll prob find hell be a big help to you

Yes its the second hand bookshop.Sometime hes got old Holden repair manuals.Hes got a half decent copy of the repair manual mfor FJ/X.Ive got na mate who drives from Happy Valley to get hisn car serviced at youre mates.I might drop in to see him next time Im down.
