Default aerial doesnt work anymore

Hey all when i put my headunit in my electric ariel stopped working automatically (i have to push the button to make it go up but it doesnt stay up) it used to go up all the time with that head unit but i took it out to fix my interior up a bit.. i was just wondering if anyone knew what the problem was? and how to fix it?

any help appreciated

Thanks, Ryan

just a guess mate but look all along the cord to the aerial you might have damaged it somewhere. I did that when I was putting in my h/unit. Maybe

could also be that you dont have a wire earthed out properly. When youve taken your head unit out you may have pulled a wire a bit too far and now it isnt earthing properly.

sometimes, factory head units have a special wire that powers up when the radio is switched on, and goes down when a cd is in. If it was factory you should have had a loom? There might be a wire on it.. I know you can buy adapters from JB that will make this stuff start working somehow.

sounds like the remote line has dropped off. It needs that signal to tell it to go up

ok the blue wire is a trigger wire to activate the aerial ( also used to fire up an amp as well) it would need to be connected to the aerial in some fashion but owing that im not 100% sure of the wiring set-up in a vn and im currently based in thailand and dont have access to one, unfortunatley i cant really offer anymore assistance...

yep what everyone else said , there are 2 wires coming from the new deck which one will be marked "remote" which is for switching on amps and the other is "aerial" or "pwr ant" that needs to be hooked up to your existing wiring that came off your original deck. Not sure what colour it is in the car but you will have a wire which goes to the aerial and when the deck is turned on the aerial goes up .
