Could it be the remote wire?

Check your yellow wire(most stereo's) needs to be constant power even when the key is off, The red wire only needs power when you turn the accessories on , that would be your problem 4 sure

Always a good idea to work on the car without power applied. This is important when dealing with electrical equipment and more so when working on a Airbaged car. There have been a number of deaths in Aust were the airbag has been set off while the installer is in front of it. This can result in very very serious injuries and in most causes death.

Double check all your work before applying power and alway use a multimeter to verify things. Do not just guess.

Cheers

make sure for your sub wires that they have no chance of grounding anywhere and put your fuse as close to the battery as posable... Run the power wires along one side and the rca's along another as you'll get sound interferance (sp) otherwise

mate , i don't know about gettin stickered for a ruff audio install ??
but electrical saftey says if the the wire feeding the unit you want to protect has the fuse closest to the power supply, it will do its job much better.
The whole point of installing fuses is to protect not only the unit but the car and electrical system as well. So with that in mind stick to the recommended fuse sizes and you shouldn't have a problem.
you can also have a supply to a seperate fuse or distribution block if you want to power various things like caps and multiple amps.
Avoid joining wires in connectors or twisted and wrapped in tape.
