Default i know nothingk...

Hi all,

i was given a kicker amp which is several years old and quite large - i am told two of these ran 4 subbies at one point in a bid for a decibel award at a show. My mate who gave it to me said that it needed a $20 part for it to work again and i was hoping someone here might be able to suggest what is wrong with it or steer me in the right direction to get it repaired.

cheers

good luck. without a wiring diagram and all the voltage readings you've got a big paper weight. Easiest way is take the cover off and look for burnt bits. If ya find something a little over cooked take it to ta tv repair joint.

It may be a 20 cent part with $19.80 worth of labour but if you cant see anything obviouse then it could cost hundreds in labour for a tech to fault find the issue.

Been there done, that and got the T shirt. As a tech I can only say to check with your mate to see if he knew exactly what it needed or open it.

Sorry to piss on your parade but thats the way it goes
