It could be done, but usually if someone fits subs behind the seat they cut out the angled wall and replace it with a flat piece, if you know what I mean.

failing that you could always have a look at the pioneer slimline subs... very shallow design and would be perfect fo a ute - either behind of under teh seats.

or you could always get 2 6" or 8" subs...
fit one behind each seat...

they wouldn't be as violent as a ten, but would still give you a kick in the small confines of the ute cabin

earthquake does a slimline 10inch sub which im looking into at the moment..mounting depth of only 2 11/16"...going to talk to a stereo place and get their advice on them and whether they could be somehow made to fit behind the seats. They also do an 8inch with mounting depth less than 2inches..

i was thinkin about running a sheet of mdf down the back wall all the way to the floor, then puttin in those pioner flat subs. runnin the mdf all the way to the top also gives you something to screw your amps onto, ad a bit of carpet no worrys.

one of my mates had a hq with holes for 2 12s cut out of the firewall and a steel box welded into the tray, dunno how it would sound. I have a single 12 under the tray of my falcon that is ported through behind drivers seat. You could possibly do something similar but it would have to be painted cos i think weather wouldnt be too kind to it under there, should be plenty of room there, when they used hq-wbs as ambos they put the fuel tank on passenger side, so should be plenty enough room one or two there, you would just have to port it

Not wuite sure about the HZ's but i know i am having a similar problem in my rodeo (single cab). Been talking to my sound guy and we think we may have sorted it out. Am having a custom made box with two 10" subs. One in between the driver/passenger seat and the other protruding off of back wall between the driver and passenger should look horn. Its going to be all fibreglassed up and painted to match my exterior. It all depends on how much you wanna spend aswell.

I've heard of peopple mounting a sub out back under your car somewhere in an enclosure that fully covers the sub (think rectangular box, divided in 2 by the sub mount and the sub hidden inside) then port it with pvc pipe into the cabin behind the seats. then you could have as big a sub as you want really.
