on both sides (near the quarter panels) i had my 2 amps mounted behind a perpects window, everything else was fully carpeted. The sub was sitting on the axl hub in the boot again behind its own wooden barrier with a perspects window. i had the red neons (to mach the car) and even a little door i could open to get to my jack (not that it mattered, i didn't have a spare tyre)

i was thinking of getting a space saver and putting it on the floor in the boot and building a fake floor. but never got around to it, and i ended up selling it for a few hundered bucks.

That sounds good, where abouts would it be best to mount my sub? like in the centre or offset towards the side etc

cheers for the reply guys...
this is what i'm building up now.
I decided to grab a pair of pioneer comp subs, these are too big to mount easily up on the axle hub so i made the box so the subs are facing up towards the parcel shelf, i've got the amps mounted on the back of the box for the time being... i'm designing a fake floor, we'll building it now, some storage compartments in the side of the l/h 1/4 panel with a door on top so i can store the jack and necesary tools incase something happens and i cant get back home. will be fully carpeted with blue neons and yeah...
Thanx for the ideas peoples, came in really handy
Steve

remember what ever way you face your subs youll get different levels of bass into your car.

yeah, i faced them up so the sound goes thru the parcel shelf better than it would face towards the back, experimentation i think

trial and error will show you the best....
ive found the sound bounces more if you face the subs towards the back of your boot, giving you a deeper louder bass.

also go with tried and tested gear.

pioneer 1000w class-d mono block. 600w rms and goes ****in hard! me and a few mates have them. none of us has had a problem except 1 that blew a fuse with his dodgey install.

as much of a pain it is to build a neat boot ...... run a single 12 facing backwards into each taillight ...... you will kill the boot space but the amount of pre-load you will gain is amazing....... depends i spose whether u want a boot and sound or just sound???...........
i have seen on a meter at gold coast sound a 3db gain in bass by placing subs in a fashion to pre load them....and yes a 3db gain is double the sound with the same power !!!!

if you was to build a box in each corner and face each sub out it would take up as much room as a sub/box built to face each taillight dont matter where they facin they still need the same cu/ft box
