Default looking at upgrading the sound system in a VS Caprice

hey all, just bought a VS caprice and lookin at redoin the soundsystem but i have a few questions.

with the speakers in the roof, what size are they? also the previous owner replaced the subs in the parcel shelf with some other subs (jarcar by the looks of it) so i was wondering is there any hidden amp anyway in the car? cause i know current statos/caprices have amps.

and one final query, will the 10 stacker cd plug straight into an aftermarket head unit via RCA plugs?

any help is much appricated
thanks fellas!

as far as i know... the stocko head unit would control the cd stacker remotely, if it uses a special kind of connection, then you'll have to get an aftermarket stacker.

99.99998% chance the stacker wont go.
the head unit controls the stacker, its not just the rca that plug in, there will be another connection that goes back to the stacker and tells the stacker to change CD etc..
your not going to get a HU that is friendly with the stacker.

you will need an aftermarket stacker to match the head unit.

e.g. Pioneer head unit - needs Pioneer stacker.

Also some head units only have the capability to control six-stackers, so watch out.

Most HUs today have at least a single-CD, all the others have control for a stacker.

Roof speakers are 4"..

My best bet would be to buy a 3 way system at the front, run your mids on the roof, and run your hi's where you normally put your tweeters and run you're woofers at the doors.
