Default FM frequency converter

hi i wonder if some one can help me, i have a japanese kenwood headunit in my commodore that came in my mates skyline, because its japanese it only does the japanese FM frequencies. i want to make it work on australian radio stations, i bought one of those FM converters that plug into the cars antenna and it has a power lead that i wired up to both my ignition and constant imput on the back of the head unit and it didnt work either way. does anyone know anything about these to help me make it work?

cheers adam

Basically frequency is a number.

Tell me the frequency range - what is the lowest you can go, and the highest you can go.

Basically the problem is in the gizmos of the head unit.

Well, sounds like it's just not working to me. They're pretty simple, antenna lead goes in one side, out the other, and power, which you've tried in two different ways (I assume you wired a ground lead as well?). You just tune the radio by adding 10mhz (or whatever the converter changes it by) to what's displayed on the head unit.

I was thinking the internal way. Plenty of people i know have used them, they don't work somehow.
