Default New Boot Install

Hey guys, im a newie here and i thought i'd show you my boot install i made for my HQ. Cost like $50 to make and turned out quite well i think. Here are some pics

Both of the walls fold out so i can hide stuff and get access to all the wires for the amps. Might install a battery behind the left one ?. I need to carpet the parcel shelf but that can wait. Let me know what you all think .

You can easily put some rubber on the bootlid, and then put some carpet over that.

did you seal and\or port those subbies? or are they open air on the board? they wond be working too well if they are just sitting open, the boot is way too big for them to work properly. im no audio expert by a long shot, ive done a couple boot installs in my time though. just giving you some food for thought so you get the most out of your equipment.
a quick fix ive done in the past for the boot lid is get some cotton sheet (i used an old matress cover) soak it in fiberglass resin and lay it over nice and tight, let it set and drill a hole, then juse pump the sucker full of that space invader stuff. then a bit of bog+sanding and you will have a very heavy boot lid that insulates sound and heat beautifly, and is very paintable or can be carpeted (much less sanding ) either way good luck.
pretty tidy install though, i like it, clean and functional.
nice job mate

hey i no a lil about this subject so hopefully can help yas out. im new to the site but mean well so please take what i say as it is meant.

right if your subs are not in a correctly sized box like the guy above suggest's theyll be terrible. around my bit you'd be slated for it. now if they are boxed and the boxes are home made jobs(which is fine and i approve.) you gotta get some fibrel glass along the seems and with rubber gloves puch it in to the seems leaving a nice smooth shape. this will elliminate any leaks and the shape will give an ever so slightly cleaner sound. them you can add sound wadding to the boxes but you dont have to. add it untill they sound as sharp as you want them to. i dont personally bother as the alpine type r 12" is spot on like.

boot lid
you want some dynamat or simmular soundproofing matting. get the stuff with adhesive already on as it is cheaper in the long run. then simply follow instructions. buy yaself a cheap hairdryer though or if possible a heat gun for warming up the stuff lol dnt just steal your lil sisters ya no.

battery no!no!no!

you deffinately do not need to be blowing loads of money on an ice battery and isnt worth adding a regular battery. if you do get an ice battery as in the type with the gel inside then be sure to use a propper split charging system or you are very likely to blow the thing up. and when they can usually cost around £200 uk you dont want that to happen.

alternative power

use a powerr cap mate. this is addequate for your gear without a doubt. you should be able to run 2 subs and 4 sets of components easily and there so cheap man. also they look the bizz on display. uk cost around £20 up to £70 these do not require a split charging system mate

good luck and dont hessitate to ask. if i cant answer ill ask me mate who this year judged an ice competition
