Default Stereo in tonner?

I was just wandering what everyone with a tonner has done about the stereo situation? due to the obvious space restrictions.

I have a pioneer headunit with pioneer 6" speakers in the kick panels, but it sounds like sh** cause unlike when the speakers are in the doors in uses them as a box.

I,ve got an old panasonic head unit in mine with 6x9 clarion speakers in the front doors & 6 inch three ways mounted behind the seats (in between those strengthening braces). Also got a small kenwood amp in it. Sounds pretty reasonable, actually sounds better than the system in my sedan that cost me heaps more.

in my ute i have a pioneer mp3 deck, and some 6.5 inch clarion splits in the doors, currently trying to work out where could mount a sub or some 6x9s . any ideas?

got room behind the seat? can sometimes get a sub in there. Alpine make a sub box for utes but it is quiet pricey from memory as it comes with a sub setup. I have seen them often mounted in the tray's and they do go pretty good even out there, get the ute shaking. Can mount the amps under the seats out of the way.

There's heaps of options, whats your budget and what do you want to get from the system?

i think it was kenwood, they have some very slim subs that can fit behind the seats. theyre like less than 10cm thick. dont know about how much space there is behind the seats in HQ tunners, maybe you could recess them in?

Default had and over come this issue

Ladies and gents i have the answer as i love to feel the beat and bass of a good stereo, earthquake have two products that i use. One is a speaker they call a "slaps" the other is a shallow sub i have 7 woofers (3x 8", 2 x 10", 2 x 6.5") and 2 7"x 10" speakers. subs are ran by 2x 5000watt mono block and 3x 1000watt mono block amps and driven by a pioneer head unit now yes it is alittle bit of over kill but better too much than not enough!!

sounds like a pretty solid set up. i got the bench seat still in my tonner, currently i got pioneer head unit, mtx 12 inch sub in custom box i made that fits right up under dash on passenger side but leavz not much leg room for who evers riding shot gun and got 6 by 9s behind the benchie. but gona take out the bench seat so i can measure up exactly how much space i got back there. i reckon the kenwood shallow mount subs are good better than the pioneer ones jus a bit pricey. a 1000 watt mono block should be more than enuff to get those puppies cracking, pioneer splits in the doors with mdf spacer and vn comy door pods over the top, you can run those streight off yur head unit, that sound system ina tonner should crank.
