Okay was just wondering wether you can write in and ask for a caution for on the spot fines for driving offences (overtaking on double lines) like you can with speed camera offences, have been told by mates u can & can't so unsure... Got off a speeding fine because of my good driving record (strange for a p plater i thought considering my driving record didnt start too long ago) so wouldn't mind giving it a go with this one, cheers

I'm surprosed you got a warning for the speed considering you are a p plater. I haven't seen that happen before. Generally they will give only 1 warning every 5 years and usually only for the speed cameras. I don't think you'd have much of a chance with the double lines though. You can always give it a try but don't expect to get a warning. It will however give you more time to pay it as they extend the due date when they receive a plea letter.
