Default Air Filter out of bonnet, NT

I know it's illegal in most other states (did a search) but I've been told in the NT it is legal to have the air filter out of bonnet. Your just not aloud to have any moving parts out of bonnet, ie: superchargee because of belts etc and most likely can't have carb out (no tunnel rams).
I ask this because I want to put a Torque Power single plane on my motor and the air filter will be poking out; but I'm wanting confirmation before I chop not just what a mate thinks. I did do a search on the NT gov sites but couldn't find any info? Is the MVR site the wrong to be looking at?

I know there's not many NT people on this site but I thought on the off chance someone might know?

i think youll find mate that any part attached to the engine will not be allowed to protrude without covering of some sort.

The exception to this of course would be a gt fitted with shaker, but technically regular foulcan would see a sticker unless you could prove it was factory fitment for that car.

others may clarify, but this is my understanding of the rule.

using the link from the section (not this thread) from the government wed site, I read it that no moving parts can protruded but static item that have a radius edge of 5mm and allow a sphire (of 165mm diameter) to sit side on and the protrusion dosen't hit more than half way through the level half way poinit is okay.

my apologie to the very bad discriptive skills, but use the link its easy to use and the relivant section are quite clear

My stuff up just had another read, rigid engine components must be covered by a scoop or other.
