Default Injected 5 ltr into LX?

I have an LX torana running factory 202 and T-bar auto, but want to change both. I spoke to a mechanic and he told me a injected 5 litre (from a VN) would bolt in fairly easy....But since then i have also been told this is illegal and i am not sure weather the person who told me it is illegal is an idiot or not lol......any help appreciated thanx.

Couldn't see ANY reason at all why this would be illegal.. Super easy conversion, just get a sump, pickup and engine mounts off either an HQ-WB or LH/LX V8 car and it'll bolt straight in. Depending on what transmission you are going to use you might need some conversion bits there and you'll need to have it all wired up. The wiring will be the main thing but everything else will be straightforward.

It will be considered a minor (owner certified) modification as far as the RTA are concerned. You will of course have to let them know about the change of engine number.

Have a read of this.
