Default torana guards

hi guys i'm doing up my lx hatch and need to cut the guards to fit 265/50/14 tyres am i allowed? they will be covered with flares. I know holden did it to the A9X toranas from factory but mines only a SL and i dont want to weld them back on if i chop'em off p.s. im in W.A. thanks guys

No problems in Vic as long as the tyres are covered. I would presume the same in WA but best you check.

Have you thought of rolling the guards instead of cutting them?

yea but 265 tyres won't fit cause iv'e got the car low. i went to pits yesterday and they gave me the green light as long as same as A9X standard from factory

I have had 265/50/15 on the back. Its the off set need to change and i still have it low.

i had a look it needs to be 3 nokia phones wide to fit and between the shocki and guard i only got 2 phones wide so i'm guessing its a chop chop for the guards

First i removed the top steel sleve on the shocker easy done with grinder. Dont leave any sharp edges. That gives you some more room space the bottom of the shocker only a little needed. and you should fit 265s pritty easy. I think my car was 2" lowered when i did this. There might have to be a little tapping with a hammer if needed but not much.

I've got 295/50/15 cut the gards put flares on and standard diff lenth looks fat would like to go bigger may be a 305 hehehehehe

hey guys thanks for the help i found a 265 at the tip chucked it on a rim no problems fits like a glove a tight one at that.
