Default Mobile Phone IDIOTS

Hey guys and gals, after being cut off for the thousandth time by one of the shaved monkeys that the Victorian Government thinks can operate a motor vehicle. (I don’t recall the part of my test that I was on the mobile phone). I have thought of a new way to stop idiots using their phones whilst driving.
Demerit points don’t work. Fines don’t work. So how about taking their bloody phones off them. That would have a lot of them crapping them selves. 48 hours without a phone and I bet at lest a couple of them would think twice about it.

haha yeah i think that may help but still people will always do what they want. And plus i dont think that that would pass through the courts lol. How about just giving everyone free hands free kits haha.

its the ones doing other things while on the phone that worry me...
like lil' blonde things putting on make-up while chatting
or
truckies/delivery guys drinking a coffee whilst on the bat phone

solution???

..its simple
get caught first time
lose the licence for 1 month

2nd time you get caught..bye bye licence for 1 year

get caught again..get used to public transport
PERMANENTLY

seems tuff??
naah
add fines + points
1st time..$1000 + 6 points

2nd time... $5000 + 6 points

last time..$10,000 and no licence ever again

seems tuff..???
not if it saves a life

the rules are simple
get a car kit/bluetooth kit...with the phone
or STOP DRIVING if the phone rings

You cannot treat your car like a cafe or social centre
while driving and expect to stay alive

my 3c

cheers

Smitty

sounds pretty fair to me smitty and i have been one of those idiots.

i got done talking on the phone while driving about 6 or 7 years ago, from memory it cost me $135 and a couple of demerit points. i was on a freeway, in an automatic van, sticking to the left lane (easy driving), when an unmarked black SS snuck up behind me and pulled me over. since then, lesson learnt, always had fones since then with a loudspeaker that u can put on the console when ur talking, problem solved. the only thing i hate more than people talking on the fone while driving now is people SMSing.

I love driving up behind someone on a phone and holding the horn on until they have to hang up. This works esspecially well in 2 lanes

that's a good one, Fooksy

I've been guilty of breaking the law concerning mobile phone use in the car.

When the phone rings, I pull over and answer it BUT I don't turn my engine off, as the law requires in QLD

that part I disagree with.

Phone crushing sounds good. plus the fines/points/etc

but then there's the rich guy's (more so girl's), who can afford to buy another phone, so it just gets repetitive, crush, buy, crush, buy, etc ad infinitum

how come cops are allowed to use a radio? (which, i believe, is not hands free)

thats why I like my de-licencing penalty scheme

you can have as MANY phones as you like
...when you walk or catch public transport

I can't comment on other states but in Victoria emergency services have an exemption for using a phone while driving. I can only presume that it could be an urgent call but I can't comment on the one you saw Gym.
Scotty It's not an offence to use a 2 way radio while driving. (In Vic). The legislation specifies a "hand held mobile phone."
Even though I have an exemption while working, I still don't like it and pull over to answer unless I'm in the VE which has bluetooth.
