Default Proposed Muscle Car Cruise

Hey guys just been thinking to my self and thought why not organise a major muscle car cruise, something everyone can enjoy, with 2 points to park and admire one at the start and one at the end.

I figured around 1hr 30min worth of driving time in between isn’t to much to discourage most and enough for people to have a nice scenic drive.

with this in mind i have mapped out a proposed route instead of using hwy's etc ive stuck strictly to back roads to enable a easy flow free of traffic, and minimal upset to the general public with regards to noise and hopefully have a minimal police presence this way.

This is the only website I’m posting the proposed route on and its not set in concrete, but would like your opinions etc...

I would be aiming to have between 100-300 cars which i think isn’t un achievable.

I would aim to start the cruise perhaps at the old Harry's dinner, for one everyone knows where this is and for two its quite central for people to start.

Would then continue though Samford, Dayboro, Narangba and finally finish at Auto Barn Morayfield.

Now I haven’t approached any one yet, but I would surfice to say they should come on board they have a large car park and have held shows there before.

Once there would just park cars and admire as well as the public can come and look as well....

What im looking for is a general show of interest who would be keen.
Who would like to help organise
Would aussiev8.com.au be willing to sponsor or help out in any way?
Any other general comments?

Would be thinking around October to allow people who's car's are off the road to complete and attend.

One last bit of info I’m after is what is the go with getting cruises registered with clubs etc to allow those on club rego to attend??

Proposed route is:
from:Newmarket Rd, QLD to:Samford Rd @-27.393990, 152.912111 to:Mt Samson Rd @-27.338015, 152.871516 to:Mumford Rd @-27.204140, 152.958480 to:-27.112465,152.948871 to:Morayfield Rd @-27.113811, 152.951858 - Google Maps

If this was to happen it would be a properly organised event with flyers to advertise etc.
Not sure whether it would be worth doing somethign along the line of charity or just leave it as a social muscle car cruise?

Also thoughts on making it a Strick Pre 1988 cars only?

Yeah im keen for that mark. Great idea. And nice cruise too. I'd be keen to help out if needed too. Going by your last cruise for the formal charity event, it will be a cracker of a cruise.

Hey Chunk,

If you could have a word to them to see if it something that is doable, i dont have a date but im thinkning october, catering for 100-300 cars not sure yet depends how succesful it is, and need the car park to park maybe they could hold a 20% off sale to coincide or something, see if they want to incorpate their logo on flyers and help out in that way etc..

let me know mate.

Sounds like a top idea. Only thing I can see being a problem if the numbers are up there is Harry's, they couldn't hold that many cars. There is a large car park next door where the shops are but I think most of those shops are open everyday??
I reckon you should try to keep it out of the city, to many traffic lights.
Definatly tell the Police what your plans are and keep them involved in every step.

mark sounds like a good idea! I don't have a car but will bum a lift with someone..

As for us sponsoring the event, it depends on whats involved, we don't really have much money.. most of the sponsors generally don't pay up as often as is required so I'm still pulling money out of my own pocket on most occasions..

But in saying that, we have access to around 8000 email address, and I'm happy to help get the word out when i send the "newsletters" out.. I'm sure I can get a few of the local shops to donate a bit of support, either by way of $$ or a few giveaways.

email me (mark at aussiev8.com.au) if you want to chat about it a little more..
