Default Looking for a colour to put on my VR.

Got my VR in primer and still trying to work out if I want to go back to the standard colour or change to something different. Thinking about maybe a dark purple but open for ideas. Anyone wanting to have a go at a few different colours to give me ideas would be hugely appreciated.
First pic is standard colour and second is with primer on.
Have some fun.

do you have a better pic of the car before you primed it, as the primer has no reflection and the colour change doesnt look all that good/realistic, maybe with a better pic the colour can be better

had a go anyway with both images

done well mate, only other pic I got is when I first brought it with the original mags that I changed due to them scrubbing all the time and even dented the guards where they had hit with the previous owner. If you could change the mags aswell would be great.
Thanks again.

Sweet as mate, is that the same purple as used in the top pic and just the different lighting of the photo makes the bottom one a little brighter colour. What year model ford was it on if you can remember. If I decide this colour I hope nobody see's it as a ford colour lol. Thanks mate has helped me big time.

Found the colour I want at the local paint shop today in there colour samples. I also found a pic of a car in the same colour. is it possible if I put the pic of the car up you can transfer the colour to my car. The colour is Honda's Midnight Purple Pearl.

I gotta say WB the white does look good but it has the same problem as the green. Every second commodore on the road is that colour lol.

Cheers ice your a legend, I don't expect any miracles just see how you go. Dont expect to get the pearl look either lol.

Yeah mate im going to give it a go, I have done a reasonable amount of straight acrylic type paint (never a full car though). at work i am superviser of spray area so have a fair amount of experience with spray guns etc although stains etc is a fair amount different technique to acrylic. Although having experience with air assisted and airless guns does help especially when we run up to 100psi through our airless guns. As to system im not 100% on the term but will be a dark base coat then the colour applied with particular attention to not apply heavy (about 3 light coats to get full cover) so the tinter doesn't sink with a final very light coat of colour to keep as much tinter on top of the colour no sanding before applying clear once again to keep the pearl tinter on the surface. There will be a fair amount of learning as I go but I have some very knowledgable people around me that are very helpful and as they know, I am more than willing to listen and learn and if worse comes to worse ill just sand it back and go again lol. $174 for 4 litres of paint I think is more than worth the experience and knowledge.

Going to use unicryl, could have applied with a base coat colour which relies on the clear so to speak to give gloss but have used both types of paint and the unicryl is a more forgiving type of paint. Was surprised when they could mix the same colour in both application methods.
