For the colour, try changing the Hue-Saturation (on the Colors menu). I would add stickers by cutting and pasting them from elsewhere, probably with a little transparency.

there's two ways of doin paint,
1 make new layer, paint over with paintbrush set to around 70% opacity
2 copy whole image and paste, and then change colour with the hue/saturation control, and then erase around the car

yeh that works for stickers, but if u dont (with the colour) erase around (say the cars on grass)it will turn purple if ur changing it to red

Yeah, you'll want to limit the selection to only the parts that you want to change!

With stickers, erase the bits you don't want, then change its layer to 'Overlay'. Realistic looking rice sticker!

To change paint, try doing it like it's done in real life.

- Start with a desaturated image (no colour)
- Get your spray gun (airbrush)
- Make a new transparent layer
- Set the mode to 'Overlay'
- Pick your colour
- Spray!

Tips:

- Use multiple layers of varying colour, coverage and opacity to make some nice paint.
- Use the method above for adding highlights to the paint.

This is how I did the VL:

Body layer applied:

In the first pic, you can see the layers of red paint applied, as well as the blue tint in the windows. Notice where the paint has been rubbed out (headlights, etc).
