dkapernaros, if you are genuinely being honest and they are letting loose in residential areas and being rubber burning hoons, then the police have a job to do so every one should just shut up and butt the hell out it. a flattened 10yr old girl or boy,(son nephew, neice, daughter) whatever, my point is these actions are time bombs no matter how good someone can drive. and car lovers everywhere suffer from one f@#k up.
on the other haand if it is just a way for the police to impound an individuals car cause he done SFA then the cops should back off.
i can't beleive anyone that even owns a gt worth $200,000. would even be as stupid to pull a stunt like that. i would'nt even pull it outtada shed.

I think curb to curb would be sitting brake. If got heaps of burnout marks around my area, but ****, the car won't be moving any faster than 5km/h. I mean good on them for getting the dumbshits going 100ks over the speed limit, I just don't see why you'd loose your car if you sit brake.

Me personaly, I love getting woken up in the middle of the night by someone doing a burnout, even it's a jap car.

No thanks... although there's a couple of young guys around here who do that kind of thing. One has a VP Stato and the other a VR Clubsport. The Stato sounds like it has a hole cut in the muffler (sounds crap at low revs) but the Clubbie has a proper exhaust and sounds just right.

One day I saw him take off from the lights up to around the speed limit, the thing sounded mad and went like a cat with something up its ass... lol

That is very heart felt, but try and look at it from a government point of view. Statistics and numbers. They don't care about your son or daughter. They don't care about your rights. They car about silencing the bleeding hearts and the minorities because frankly, they are a pain in the governments ass.

Punishments need to fit crimes. That guy has been issued a $200,000 fine for ripping 2 burnouts. If you say that is just, you have rocks in your head. People get off for armed robbery, rape and murder. Is that just?

These laws are absolutely stupid and its our own fault that they came into effect. Through our behavior? No. Through not standing up and being counted. By being dictated to by minorities. The stupid leb ripping a skid in his mothers commodore will be caught, under the old or new laws. Throw the book at him if he continually plays up, but having such a valuable car taken from you for 2 offenses? Come on. Welcome to old Russia.

The aftermarket automotive industry last year raked in over $600 million dollars. That is a lot of enthusiasts, and a lot of taxes for the government, yet we sit back and get steam rolled by rubbish laws.

yeah mate lapourse is jsut a small loop around the water, but to get there u need to travel through residential streets. and all up and down those streets are litted with burnout marks

Im on both sides of the case, the hoons and the cops. Like i can understand were the cops are comming from becuz it is dangerous but still they could ease up on some stuff. they could spend there time trying to controll street racing instead of these stupid things.

as for the looser with the gt he was pretty stupid, i can understand doing it in a vl or vn or something but a 351 lol?

110% spot on.

Cops only care if it affects themselves. If no one cared what these hoons did , the cops wouldnt do anything. Instead there forking out $60,000 of average joes taxs to buy f6 typhons to catch these guys just so old granny stops complaining.

imagine if the cops did nothing, there would be news storys and public outrages, not about the hoons but about the cops not doing anything. They only go hard on these sorta things to give themselves a good name.

but im gonna have to sit on the fence with this one, some stuff on the street is dangerous and these idoits should be punished, not what happend to the gt or what happens at lapaourse

as every one has said at one stage or another if you dont do anything thats illegal then you wont get caught, but in saying that the punishment doesnt fit the crime. sure impond the car and hit him with a massive fine not a 800 dollar fine but a big **** off one like 15-20g. you hit people with those sorts of fines and it will stop them real quick. or the smarter alternative is use the revenue from this stuff to create a place to do this, whats the point of having a v8 if you cant stretch its legs give us a place to do this sort of stuff then there will be no danger to the public as we will all be off at these gatherings playing funny buggers. ITS JUST COMMON SENSE

What sort of ****head gets caught TWICE doing burnouts in a "$200,000" GT??? If he is treating a piece of art like a shitbox clapped out hoon's car then he doesn't deserve to own it. You gotta ask yourself how many times has he not been caught?
