Hay 307 and welcome.
Best Holden for a 307 SBC would be a HQ Holden, as no modification is really required. You will need to source engine mounts and adaptors. Brakes should be OK. Best tranz would be a T350 in my opinion as no real mods to the floor pan are required. A new cross member that are readily available will be needed. Tail shaft would need to be custom made.Holden did make them but good luck finding one. Stock banjo diff can handle a 307 if you don’t give it a hard time. If fitted with a 10 bolt even better. You would have to check with your local transport authority to see if a mod plate is required.

hey 307 & coop. aren't standard trimatic tailshafts right for a t350? I may be wrong, but the yolk is the same isn't it? dunno about lengths and it would depend on the diff being used I guess.
but yes 307, an HQ would be the way to go, a simple build with few hassles in the long run.

Trimatic, Aussie 3 and 4 speed, t350, powerglide, Muncie all can use the same yoke.

harder to find the bits for, such as sumps and stuff, when you co find them they are more expensive.
